Srinivasa married Padmavati in the presence of all gods and people. All of them were happy and Bhooloka appeared as Devaloka. Yagas were performed by Padmavati and Srinivasa through Brihaspati and Sukamaharshi. Lakshmidevi went to Kolhapura after the marriage.
The bride and bridegroom spent their time in Agasthyashrama. As Akasaraja expired, his son Vasudana and brother Thondamana declared war on each other.
Srinivasa went to the battlefield to stop the war. An arrow used by Thondamana hit the hand of Srinivasa and He fell unconscious in the chariot. Then all warriors stopped their fight and came to Srinivasa. Srinivasa made an agreement to divide their kingdom.
Thondamana constructed Anandanilaya at Seshachala where Vishnu was living in a Valmika. Srinivasa came with Padmavati and entered Garbhagriha. Brahma prayed Srinivasa to stay in Seshachala and protect his devotee till Kaliyuga ended. Srinivasa consented to the Brahma’s request for loka kalyana.
Srinivasa thought Mahalakshmi was worried how to pay the interest for Kubera. Padmavati suggested to call on Lakshmidevi. Srinivasa went to Kolhapura on Garudavahan and He did not find Mahalakshmi there. ____ asked ___yudeva to bring lotus called ____aKamala from deva loka. He placed ___ra-Kamala-flower in Padm___arovara ___ and ___ penance on the bank of ____. Lakshmidevi came out from the flower. Brighu prayed to Mahalakshmi to pardon him for his previous mistake. Mahalakshmi became peaceful and made pradakshina to Srini-vasa. As per the prayers of Brahma and Maheswara, Srini-vasa and Mahalakshmi entered Anandanilaya. Mahalakshmi came out from the lotus on Karteeka Panchami and so Karteeka Panchami is treated as a great festival . Srinivasa saw Lakshmidevi and said “You stay here permanently. You give money, health, etc. to the devotees. They will offer some money to me. I shall pay the interest to Kubera till the end of Kaliyuga.” Mahalakshmi agreed to His words. She gives prosperity, health, etc., to the devotees and relieves their sins. They offer some money to the lotus feet of Lord Venkateswara and obtain the blessings of Lord. Lord Venkateswara pays the interest for the loan yearly once in Dakshinayana Punyakala. This festival namely Anivara Asthana is performed every year in the temple in Tirumala.
